Important Admissions Processes

Process Details
IIT M.Tech (Decentralized + COAP) Apply individually to each IIT website. Register on the COAP portal (launches around March) with your GATE score to receive centralized offers. (Join our Telegram channel to receive real-time updates on the M Tech admission release date and time.) 
NIT M.Tech (Centralized - CCMT) Register once on the CCMT portal. Fill 30-50 preferences. Allotment based on GATE score.
IIT MS (Research) & PhD Shortlists are usually published directly as PDFs on individual IIT websites.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualifications: B.Tech/B.E. degree with a valid GATE score for the respective admission cycle.
  • Age Limit (PSUs): Typically 28 to 30 years for general candidates (relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC).
  • Age Limit (M.Tech): Generally, there is no upper age limit for applying to M.Tech programs via COAP/CCMT.

Salary, Stipend & Benefits

  • M.Tech Stipend: ₹12,400 per month (for valid GATE scorers).
  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF): ₹37,000 + HRA per month (DRDO, ISRO, IGCAR).
  • PSU Pay Scale: Average starting CTC of ₹12 lakhs to ₹20 lakhs per annum.
  • Other Perks: Higher education abroad (Singapore, Germany) with available scholarships.
